I guess any improvements are really basic things to the process of setting up and updating, possibly all that could be simplified but I'm sure you're already trying to do that.

Otherwise a search function, and maybe use the popular or recently released options to make it easier to add content, (not that the alphabetic option is complicated just not that useful for discovering new content).

Thanks for the plugin.

I'm glad to hear it works on the atv 2. I was curious if it would work due to the limited space available. Approximately how much space is used to store the artwork and such?

i really love being able to add TV shows to the library. This will make things a whole easier for the wife to find her favorite shows. Not that she had a lot of trouble before but it's nice to see all the metadata that comes along with the TV shows.

The only thing I've noticed that might need to be addressed is the case where a show is already in the library but I only have one season and what to add the IceFilms version for the other seasons. At the moment, it'll add all shows found on IceFilms which causes duplicates for the seasons I already have.

Example: I already have season one of Better Off Ted on my hard drive and added to the library. I add it from IceFilms so that I can have season two with all the metadata available but now I have duplicates of season one's episodes.

Is there any way you can check to see if the episode is already in the library, and if so, skip it?

Otherwise, this is a great addition and I'll definitely be adding this to my main HTPC. Thanks a lot for all of your hard work!

Edit: Noticed one more thing. It seems to not like apostrophes in the TV show's title. For example, America's Got Talent doesn't get added to the library.

This truly is a genius idea, I didn't quite understand fully from the description and was concerned about the load this would produce for icefilms but it's just so quick and easy - like you say it's literally just getting the information about where the videos are located and creating a .strm file for each one. Shouldn't be a problem for the icefilms server at all - I'm really impressed... well done! TV Shows work fantastic, I don't know about the movies but it looks like it should work equally as well. I can't be bothered to mess about with nightlies, patches and all that any more - I need a stable system in my lounge and just play about with the nighlies on the xboxes Big Grin

Once again I can't tell you how impressed I am, great idea - bravo!

Have you sorted Watched Status so you can know what you have previously watched? I love this feature in the normal xbmc, but none of the others addons have it.

This is seriously cool, but the seek 30 seconds doesn't work, also the 45 second wait is a pain.

It works on the ATV2 too.

You need a premium account to seek. Also, sign up for a free account at MegaUpload to reduce the wait time to 25 seconds.

I made a patcher that will patch the XBMC executable and make XBMC able to recognize strm-files as movies.

Use this on your own risk. Running custom made executables found on Internet is usually is a bad idea.

I updated my initial post about information on where to find this patcher as well as instructions on how to use it.

I will try to create a Linux version of the patcher as well but first I need to install an Ubuntu and XBMC on a virtual machine. I don't wánt to experiment with the installation on my HTPC.

I will make a small guide on how to schedule updates on Windows and Linux when I get the time.
Adding popular shows next to the alphabetic categories seems like a good idea.

When exported my library the artwork in the movie directory took up 2.84 GB. The fanarts took up 2.23 GB of those 2.84 GB.

To be able to find out if a movie or episode already exist I would probably need to mess around in some databases and it would be more work than what it is worth. I guess it could be solved with JSON-RPC but it's not anything I will look at right now.

I will look into what prevents America's Got Talent from being recognized.

You can't, it's a patch for the Windows version of XBMC.

ATV2 will be trickier to create a patch for since I don't own an ATV myself.

Anyone who knows if ATV runs the regular Linux version of XBMC or if it's a special version of it?
