I moved from nslus2 to the DNS-323. The difference in performance is significant (between the two), must be even more so if you go the Qsnap route. The main reason for the DNS323 is price and the fact that I can install debian and since it's an arm processor, most of the programs I used in my nslu2 could be used in the DNS323. I guess that would go the same for some of the Qsnap models too...

Is your artwork synched between ALL xbmc systems as well? I have seen mention that the DB can centralize, but the artwork isnt (posters etc,,)

Yes. With pathsubstitute that is possible. I use mysql on a Synology DS211j with 3 XBMCs and all are synced, with posters/fanarts and everything
