Here are a few screenshots from my movie extras project I'm working on. It uses TV shows to host the extras and gets full TVTunes support. I've used clearart and logos that I've found around the 'net as there is no source for clearart/logos for movies. I'm not a coder/scripter, I just manually edited the nfo for each "show" and "episode".

Bear in mind this is a work in progress. If anyone is interested in how it was achieved, or wants any pointers let me know. Need help sourcing the clearart as I don't know where to start generating my own. Also, does anyone know the best way to capture some video? I want to add a couple of clips.

12-09-2011:

A quick update and a couple of new pics. Sorted collections now and manage to add movies as extra seasons, all with TVTunes running. Now discovered how to have different music for each season (",). Remember that current clearart and logos are ones that I've scrounged off the 'net. They need to be resized to prevent stretching and distortion.

There's a chance we might get a place for movie logos/clearart on fanart.tv:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=109678

If I can get the interest up, I could formally get it added to fanart.tv and to the skin. Any feedback is appreciated.

22-09-2011:

Here are a few of the finished logos I have done:

Resized these few:

Images do work when clicked on. Just post them as links or if you find the direct imagelink (right cloick-> properties. there is the direct image link).

Looking good, especially the clearart. You might wanna give the seasons number 0, as those are considered specials in xbmc.

Good thinking. I was told movie clearart/logos wasn't possible, so I'm quite pleased with the results so far. If eventually it was integrated into a skin so you could add an extras button to the relevant movie, that would be sweet. Getting greedy now Laugh

Try this (in Eden, don't know about Dharma):
press "c" on the movie that has extras and do "link to tv show". Now the movie ends up in the extras as a <season>
Where getting somewhere here Nod
and found a bug in Nox this way (see the resolution icon)

To bad it wont work the other way round that in movie info you whould get like a button "tv show" or something like that.

I was thinking about making a total how-to setup guide for pre-Eden with Nox as primary skin with al bell and whistles.
Including how-to filenames and folder structure. Would solve a lot of problems for people with less experience. Maybe something like this

We can add this as an extra to the setup guide.

Anyway great job so-far. Never realy liked the Extras but now i can appriciate them more Smile
How do you handle movie sets/sequals? Create let's say "Blade" as the tvshow and "Balde & Blade 2 & Blade 3" as season? That would be great i think. Problem is you can't use the Season 0 anymore for them. You would have to go with S01 S02 S03

Yeah I ran into the problem, have posted it in the Nox forum. Hopefully it can be put right. The link to a TV show is a masterstroke!! I never noticed that option before. I didn't consider sequels til now but for Back to the Future I marked the series as "Back to the Future Trilogy", I think I'll keep that as the standard for now. I grouped the individual extras under one season and clearly marked in the info which movie they were from. It works for BTTF so I think I'll judge it on a movie by movie basis.

The how to guide is a sweet idea!!

I noticed it before but didn't had any use for it till now Wink

I have my sets marked as "Blade Collection" so i would set up like this:
Code:
Movie Extras:

Blade Collection [tv show]
--Blade Extras [S01]
-----Extra 1
-----Extra 2
-----Extra 3
--Blade 2 Extras [S02]
-----Extra 1
-----Extra 2
--Blade 3 Extras [S03]
-----Extra 1
-----Extra 2
--Blade [Movie]
--Blade 2 [Movie]
--Blade 3 [Movie]
Back to the Future Collection [tv show]
.....
Pros:
You don't get a big extra's library
Cons:
No clearart for each sequal as it only shows the tvshow one and not for the season. If so maybe little modification needed in the skin code. Would be nice though. Season clearart/banners or banners or else fallback to tv show banner.

Correct if i'm wrong because i haven't tried any of this. Have no movie extras to try it out.
I'll start next week on the howto guide because i'm in middle of renovation and almost all is covered in plastic

Everything you proposed sounds good. I think seperating sequels (or not) is down to the user. I have Iron Man 1&2 seperate and the BTTF's together. But I agree that grouping them together is a better idea. I'll put it to Big Noid next week once I have a bit more done. Thanks again for your help and input, it's greatly appreciated.

I think grouping sequals is the way to go especially if you're already using movie sets.

I always call mine "Collection" beacause you never know when the "trilogy" becomes "quadroligy" or something like that and you would have to change it all Frown

No problem. Happy to help out Big Grin
Maybe you can help me out with the guide.

I'll make a request for button / infolabel that shows you to which tv show(s) [yes you can have multiple] the movie is linked.

Here's the request:

Side note:
At the moment the movie sets don't work in smartlists. I saw a commit in the git that will hopefully fix that.

Looks like we might find a home on fanart.tv for movie logos/clearart:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=109678

All we need now is some skin support, Big Noid are you listening?

A few movie cleararts have been posted in this thread:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?p=8...post894002

It's a starting point and some awesome work by jacktyler. I'm in the process of making a few myself and I'll post a few when I'm done. If anyone has any to contribute, feel free to post links here.
