[LIVE] Missing GUI sounds
#1
I have a Zbox ID31 (ION2). I'm trying OpenELEC Dharma, OpenELEC Eden and the official LIVE release.

I can't get GUI sounds to work reliably. If I choose to exit XBMC, it restarts and when XBMC comes back the GUI sound works.

Does anyone have any idea why they would work on reboot but not when booted from cold?

More info in this OpenELEC thread.

Solved! Electra sorted this for me in the thread that I linked to above. It was a timing issue.

Quote:Just for the record, I managed to solve my HDMI audio problem on the ID36 by adjusting the bdl_pos_adj parameter of the snd-hda-intel kernel module. The bdl_pos_adj puts
an artificial delay to the wake up timing which solved it for me. No more XBMC restart needed.

Here's my working /storage/.config/modprobe.d/sound.conf for ID36:

Code:
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=0 probe_mask=0xff04,0xff02 bdl_pos_adj=0xffff,0x0040

The probe masks was also adjusted to match the ID36 hardware. It works without them but I found the upstart to be faster when having them there.
