I am using xbmc primarily to watch streaming content on 1channel off my desktop, but I want to be able to use xbmc throughout my house.
I have an old Acer d250 netbook with a 1.6ghz atom processor sitting here collecting dust. I've read that these netbooks can work if I put a broadcom crystal hd card in it. Right now, I can get a card for about $25-$30. I already have a usb to HDMI converter so I would use that to hook up to the different televisions in my house.
Or should I just spend the $100 it costs to get a g-box mx2?
So my question is, can I get by with spending just the $30 to use my netbook? or will I that end up being a failed experiment?
Thanks!
