I see a lot of talk about PVR builds, but every time I've tested a 1080i TS file I have, I get like 2 frames per second. I even copied it over to the home folder and played it off the internal flash. No improvement.
This is known to not be working for everyone, right? If it does work fine for some, I'll file a report.

HD MPEG won't work. Known issue. It will probably never work. Only HD content in h.264 will playback smoothly.

Bummer. What about the iPad 2 and its more powerful hardware? Has anyone tried that out?

Has anyone tried software decoding of HD MPEG on the iPad 2? I'm just curious what the prospects of a possible A5 powered ATV3 might yield.
