Normal TV Remote with MCE Receiver
#1
I have a MCE IR receiver (OVU4003/00) connected to my HTPC. When I press any button on my TV remote, the red LED on the MCE receiver lights up Shocked

Has anyone gotten Windows and XBMC to receive and recognize commands (play, pause buttons) from a regular TV remote through a MCE receiver?

Yes. Probably the TV is using RC5 commands. In Linux they can be recognized and processed, so I guess with the appropriate drivers/mappings Windows will also work.

Note though that it's extremely inconvenient to have more than one device talk the same 'remote language', but I guess that's pretty obvious.
