I'm totally new to this so I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot.
I jaibroke my Apple TV2 no problem.
I installed XBMC no problem
Took a long time to figure out how to find video sources on my computer. But i can see the file names (movies and tv shows) in the XMBC program.
But when I click to play, it doesn't work.
I'm thinking I might need to install some codecs (sounding like I know what I'm talking about, but acually kinda picked that off the internet)?
Also, I'm not sure how to install all this stuff.
I want to learn, but reading code and shit is not at the top of my list. Is there like a "Install 3rd party apps for dummies"? I've been reading I have to do it through SSH? I'm a little weary in playing around with that, but if I have a step by step thing, no prob.
I digress.....
I love the idea of "opening up" my Apple TV 2 to do other things.
But first I want to focus on just playing video, specifically .avi, through XBMC.
Like I said, I see the files on the screen, but when I push play, nothing.
I run Lion FYI
Thanks for any help you can give me.
