Sorry this is a noob question, is there a way that regardless which application you are using you can default the way the files are shown. For example in confluence, the options are list, big list, thumbnail, posterwrap, wide icons.

I want to to stay on say wide icons, regardless of what I'm looking at whether it be video addons, music, pictures etc... or do I have to go into each application and set each one up?

Go into video addons, music, pictures and set what view you want to use in each the same applies even if you want the same view assuming that view is available in that section
