Looks like Sony has been paying attention...

I'm not say that Sony is really ripping of XBMC but I do believe there are some striking similarity between Sony's new Video Unlimited and XBMC. Actually to be completely honest it looks like the love child of XBMC and Apple TV. You be the judge:

Interesting feature where you can relate movies by Actors, Movie Genre, etc...This is a way to find your Six Degrees to Kevin Bacon....so I thought about my six degrees and found I wasn't far off...the movie Footloose starring Kevin Bacon was filmed in two towns I grew up in. Provo and American Fork Utah....

hard to say anything is VERY similar to XBMC due to the level of customization that XBMC offers. Different skins have drastically different looks and they keep moving toward sleeker and otherwise 'better' UIs. As a result, anything with at least a half decent UI that manages video/music, as a result will naturally resemble XBMC.

Funny...I was just coming over here to post about this, and I'm happy to see that someone already beat me to it. Some folks around the interwebs are going gaga over what Sony's got here, but my first thought was that it reminded me of what I've been able to do with XBMC for several years now, including on my old non-360 XBox!
