Does anyone know how I can install/update my xbmc install to the latest nightly build?

I followed the instructions here for installing Ubuntu on my first generation AppleTV.

But I am trying to update it -- but it seems that the ppa's have not been updated.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think there is a problem with 8.04 in doing this. Im thinking that becouse of this thread http://stmlabs.com/forum/topic/howto-switch-to-nightly

Any reason your not just using sam's image?

Just go with sam's image updates every month, easy install of update. Just power cycle your machine.

SAMs golden image is a blessing but some of us like to "roll our own"

Have fun then, there are probably dependencies that aren't there for Hardy, which is what the link posted in the OP points to. It's going to be, IMO, more trouble than it's worth. Especially since you're going to reach diminishing returns on functionality vs what the ATV1 can handle.

You can use my builds but you don't want to so you will have to build yourself. There are a lot of dependencies you will need that will need to be compiled from source
