"Comment" field size limit for id3v2/flac tags in mp3/flac files

can anyone tell me the character limit the xbmc has on the "comment" field in id3v2 and "flac tags" ("vorbis comments")?

i have some very large "comments" in certain song songs and they show up in the song info dialog as "unavailable".

In the week or so since you posted, couldn't you just have experimented with field size until you figured it out? Seriously, what is that like a 15 minute experiment?

I'd guess it will be somewhere in https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/tree/master.../libid3tag though I haven't tried running XBMC in a debugger to find out exactly where. On a quick glance through I can't see any limit to the comment size.

obviously i don't have all this extra free time like you do for like things like pointless comments and trial and error experimentation. i guess if no one answered i'd have no choice, but i really don't see what is so abrasive about my question that you felt the need to even chime in.
