Quick question I am looking at this device, it mentions CIR does this mean it can be turned on from the remote? Maybe you can have a look at this.
By power on in this thread I also assume were discussing full S5 power down? http://downloads.zotac.com/mediadrivers/.../pa191.pdf Thanks for help in advance. |

Hi all, I tried to read as much of the thread as I could. I have the ASRock A75M-ITX FM1 motherboard. Am I correct in understanding that I don't need a CIR module, and that I will be able to use a wake on USB function to start up the PC?
If this is true, then what kind of USB-IR receiver should I be looking at? I'm also looking for a cheap but nice universal remote, no desire for LCD on it or anything like that. How do you get it to learn the right command for turning on/off the htpc? Thanks. |

i dont know everything but,
the USB wake function is so far a hit and miss,,, maybe ask user named BALINUS, he currently uses the USB wake function on the same motherboard as you. ask him which USB IR receiver he uses. |

Hey Guys,
I'm back and finally resolved my problem. Asrock A75M-HVS was not powering on with the Logitech Harmony from S5 with HP USB MCE Receiver. While others on here were able to do it with the HP receiver, they all had the HP remote. So i went ahead and bought the HP remote and programmed the POWER button it into the Harmony with the Learn button. My Asrock now powers on from S5 (complete shut down). Holy smokes. Shutting down is also just as simple and I never had an issue here. Using Eden and the default skin. Programmed the Harmony to use (MCE keyboard), S, direction down, Enter. Iv recently bought the asrock h67 itx/ht and was looking forward to its ability to start and shutdown from s5 via remote. I just assumed i could use the supplied usb/cir receiver in a rear usb port with an extender lead to bring it around the front of my tv, but after reading the manual it seems i need to hook up front usb ports to the internal usb and cir header. The problem is the case im after (wesena itx2) doesnt have front usb ports is there anything i can do so that i can use this function ? any help would really be appreciated

I have the same on it's way in the post. The easiest way would be to have a usb extender cable from the rear so the line of sight would be ok. Ugly solution perhaps though.
