Pixelated Playback w/RealTek OnBoard Video
#1
I recently built a new machine with an Asus P8h67-M motherboard which has Intel onboard HDMI, but every HD (720/1080) video is extremely pixelated and unwatchable.

Is it a CODEC thing or a Video driver issue?

Ive installed the Windows 7 Essentials Codec Pack, Divx codec and Ive updated the Intel video driver, but no joy.

Anyone else having/had the same issues?

There have been many reports of problems with Intel GPUs. It seems their idea of DXVA compatability differs from everyone elses. The only fix is to turn off DXVA or to fit an NVIDIA or ATI video card.

XBMC doesn't use external codecs, so the codec packs you've installed will have made no difference (but done no harm).
