Jailbroken [AT2] issues with OSX Lion
#1
Hey guys, So I recently purchased a mac (2 weeks) and purchased the Apple TV 2 and jail broke it. I've already installed nitotv and XBMC. Now I'm having issues trying to get files from my Mac onto the XBMC library or syncing it. I have been at this for HOURS and seems like everything I've tried has failed.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance.

My apologies if this has been posted before.

upgrade to the latest nightly and use AFP instead of SMB.

I've been looking at that thread wondering where what goes. I'm a newb to MACs and don't have the slightest clue to put the address that was quoted

I found the zeroconf browser option for new source but I don't know what the next steps are

And I have the latest nightly installed...when i go to Add Videos, under zeroconfig there is a folder with my username (SAMBA) in brackets. Sorry if i sound like an idiot right about now.

If anyone could please provide me with step by step on how to sync through afp I would really appreciate it. I have looked at the sticky but I don't know where to input that address. I've only owned a Mac for about 2 weeks now.

On your Mac go to the Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Network

If you are connected via Ethernet it will say (for example)

IP Address: 10.0.0.3

if you are connected via wifi it will say it in a sentence like "Wi-Fi is connected to Router Name and has the IP address 10.0.0.3."

Note that number. On the ATV2, when you add a new source, scroll down and add new network location. Select AFP as the protocol and use the IP address you noted before. That should be all you need to do. Press okay at that point, select the new network location, press okay again.

I assume you already set up your shared folders and stuff in the "Sharing" System Preference pane. If not, let me know and I'll tell you how to do that as well.

I couldn't find AFP on the menu. There were SMB, HTTP, SSH and many others but no AFP Undecided
