HELP!! getting bluray playback smooth on AMD fusion
#1
I have the ASRock E350M1 (£110), 4gb single stick of Corsair ram (£18), a Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP bluray combo drive (Lets call it £50), and a 1tb 3.5 hdd.

I am using PowerDVD 11 (is 10 better?) with acceleration turned on as an external player, and have reshelled windows via silentlauncher.

When I try my test bluray disc (The Bourne Supremacy), playback is incredibly choppy, almost as if the hardware acceleration isn't used (though it is definitely checked in PowerVD.

Please could someone let me know what I'm dong wrong? As far as I am aware this drive and gpu together are good enough to do bluray without a hitch.

Do you have the latest ATI drivers?

I used the AMD all in one utility to install from http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Mo...1&o=Win764.

Wasn't aware there was any newer - have I missed a trick?

EDIT: Do I need Catalyst seperately? If I do I feel a bit stupid...

Durrr it looks like you do need separate catalyst drivers. I'll be installing those tonight then.....

So I was being thick. Turns out the all in one driver isn't so all in one. All smooth now thanks Smile
