I finally have got eventghost to work how I want with my mce remote but the only issue I have is the very very slow response. I have to literally wait .5 - 1 sec between each button press for xbmc to read the remote. Im not sure if its a setting in the software or what but its very annoying. I like how when using a keyboard or the constellation app on the ipad its super quick and responsive. Any help on this?

What IR receiver and what handset are you using (if it's a universal handset like the Harmony)?

Most MCE remotes will work with XBMC without needing help from Eventghost.

It is this exact setup.

It was working without eventghost but some of the buttons did nothing such as the back button etc.

OK, that's a standard Microsoft remote.

Unless you need the special features offered by Eventghost, e.g. the ability to route signals from the remote to EXBMC even when it doesn't have the focus, you can just use the MCERemote add-on to configure the remote. I use the same remote configured with the MCERemote add-on and the button response is instant, or at least I can't detect any delay.

NB you need to uncheck the "Disable HID device" option in Eventghost or the remote won't work when Eventghost isn't running.
