Harmony 700 + XBMC on Windows 7 + questions

I figured out that I have to use the MCE Keyboard device (in the Watch Media Activity I am using). So then clearly for a button I can specify MCE Keyboard and D (for eg).

But I have two problems:
  • it's not working - when I send C the Context menu is not popping up
  • the WMC is being started up when i press that Activity button - I don't want to start the WMC - I just want to use the MCE keyboard to send commands to XBMC

In terms of the second point, the WMC is associated with the activity of watching Media to ensure that the MCE keyboard is associated/enabled for that activity and I can send keystrokes to XBMC - but it also means that WMC starts up when i select that activity - and I don't want it to:

Watch Media
Review the list of devices used in this Activity, and if necessary, re-order the way in which they are powered on.

XBMC Windows Media Center SE
TV LA-46M81BD
MCE Keyboard MCE Keyboard

So how do I activate the MCEKeyboard for this activity without switching it on?

The first point - I am trying to send C key to XBMC to bring up the Context Menu - when I type C into the keyboard this works. I associated the Red remote button to device=MCE KEyboard and Command = C

but nothing happens.
