I know this was covered in a separate threat but I must relay the following,
if you keep getting operation timeout from xbmc when attempting to add a windows 7 smb directory uninstall windows live sign-in assistant. Even if you can't find it in your list of installed programs, download the newest version from windows install, uninstall and reboot.
