I want to reup this topic only to say that now that i have bought the Time capsule i can answer to my question:
The Time Capsule is not a good choice for streaming to Apple TV, but a terrible choice, because it is full of bug and lag that compromise the experience to use it. In my opinion i have done a terrible mistake buying it, so "beware of the Time capsule".

Today I setup a network in which there were 3 atv2 (firmware 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4.4) and 3 Time Capsule (generation 1, gen 3 and gen 4). All atv2 were connected to TC on ethernet via afp protocol.
In a combination of atv2 and TC gen 4 there was a problem. When viewing 720p movies constantly there was a "buffering". Time Capsule gen.3 was a source of problems - it caused problems when using with any atv2. At connection of any atv2 to TC gen.1 or gen.2 the problem disappeared. Thus to use atv2 and Time Capsule gen.4 (A1409) it is impossible! |
