I am running one of this weeks nightly build on a fresh installation of Windows 7 (32-bit). XBMC is controlled by Harmony Remote which is setup as MCE. I am running EventGhost with latest version of XBMC2 plug-in but even with EventGhost disabled, the MENU, GUIDE and INFO buttons are not working. They are setup on the remote to pass XBMC DVDmenu, Guide and Info commands. The remote LED is flashing when I press those buttons and so is the IR receiver LED but XBMC does not register any of those commands. All other buttons are working fine.
Is it this something similar as the volume buttons which control Windows volume instead of XBMC volume?
How do I fix that?
Thanks.
Menu, guide and info buttons no longer work

That was a deliberate design decision taken after user feedback (which I disagree with, but there you go :-). A debug log will tell you what signals XBMC is receiving when you press the buttons in question. I don't think anything has changed in the keyboard handling recently, but then I'm not sure what Eventghost sends to XBMC. JR |

I just checked the log and looks like the commands are not being registered in XBMC at all. It is weird because they are configured in EventGhost and in Harmony software. I have also noticed that while Exit button is also configured, it doesn't work. The light on the remote or on the IR receiver does not even blink when I press Exit button.

I need some help. I think I have to map the "right click" action to some button in Harmony software. I have tried few mappings (right click, yellow, CTRL-C) but nothing works. All other buttons work but I can't get the context menu to show up.

I have turned the EventGhost off. Now I just have MCE IR receiver and remote that control XBMC directly. Still, I do not know what to set the Menu button to so the context menu appears.

If you look on http://xbmcmce.sourceforge.net/ there's an app called ShowKey that will tell you what keypress the receiver is generating when you press the menu button. Once you know the key you can create a mapping file to map that key to the ContextMenu action. On my web site there's a applet called KeymapEdit that makes it easy to produce key mapping files.
Alternatively, if the Harmony is set as an MCE keyboard can't you use the Harmony software to assign C to the menu button. Then the menu button will be just like pressing C on the keyboard and this opens the context menu. JR |

Thanks JR. I will check the software when I get back home. I haven't seen the C key as an available option. There is "right click" but it doesn't do anything when selected.
I guess with nightly builds I will have to use the ShowKey v2.0. I see that this software is ahead of our time (Last updated 2nd October 2012).

JR: Your software worked like a charm. I have used the KeyMapEdit2 and just setup CTRL+C to show context menu. My keyboard.xml file now has only one entry (ctrl+c:contextmenu) and everything works. Thanks a lot for your help and providing useful software.
