Hi Guys,
Details
ATV2 ver 4.3
XBMC Pre-eden Nightly (Installed on 15th Oct 2011 - so presuming it's the 14th Oct build)
Installed via manual download of deb file and dpkg install
Debug log: http://pastebin.com/TBE1fpEM
EDIT: See around 13:51 in the log for an example output of the attempt to stream
Problem
I watch premiership football over the internet, using sopcast on my linux desktop. This is a P2P video app that streams the resulting feed to http://localhost:[port]/tv.asf. I can then open that using VLC etc no problems.
If I try to open it on the ATV2 using an strm file I get the audio fine, but the video plays in slow motion. I've tried passing the buffer=0 and live=true flags but no real difference.
I've also tried transcoding the stream to h264 (both mkv and mp4 containers) with no joy. I've even tried just passing through to a new container, no luck there either.
The stream is 1400Kpbs - it's not a network latency problem as I can stream it on my laptop (wireless) no problems, whereas the desktop and the ATV2 are both wired.
Is this just a case of the ATV2 not having enough grunt to stream this? (that seems unusual considering it handles 720p content no trouble on my smb share). Or am I doing it wrong?
Cheers
Meganub
