If I select a movie to play, I go immediately into full media playing mode (i.e. all GUI elements disappear and I am just watching a movie). If I press return I get the OSD. If I press backspace the OSD goes away.
Same thing happen for TV shows
But, if I go into Music and select something to play (or queue up a whole genre, artist, etc.) the music starts playing but the rest of the GUI elements do not go away. The menu that got me to this selection of music is still on screen and active. Pressing return is applied to this menu, as opposed ot bringing up OSD. If I hit tab I can go to Now Playing and get rid of this menu. Now I can hit return and get the OSD again, but now backspace does not close the OSD. I have to hit ESC, now.
So, the main question in this post is simply: Why the different interface for music and videos?
I assume there is a good reason for this, but I would love to what it is.
