[AppleTV2] Weird music playback flow
#1
Hi there,

sorry if this has been discussed before but I don't know what keywords I should search for...

When I try to play music files and I go into the music menu and choose any song, I have to press play and pause for the song to actually start being played. If I make the mistake of clicking on another song, my AppleTV2 crashes.

Anybody with similar experience?

Thanks a million

you are using an outdated version - i know that it is the latest version from cydia/nitotv ... but you better install a nightly build which will fix this issue and many more...

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer.

This is the tutorial that I've followed: http://www.fansdeapple.com/showthread.php?t=17297

Basically, I added http://apt.awkwardtv.org to my sources.list and then installed nitoTV and XBMC from there on.

If it's not too much from me to ask, do you mind pointing me to the right tutorial so I make sure I use the updated information?

Thanks in advance

Hi again,

I'm trying to gather information prior to updating to nightly build. I would like to backup my current settings so I don't lose my particular settings.

I've found this thread which contains interesting information

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=92778&page=3

before I bite the bullet and start backing up folders, could you also point me to THE tutorial? As you can see, I searched a bit in the forum but I'm not sure if there may already be some sort of backing up App like the one existing for jailbroken iPhones prior to updates.

Thanks a lot in advance,

How to install the nightly build: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Ins...htly_build

Is the link for installing the nightly build - from my signature. Click on it, don't try and paste it into a browser. Are you sure you are ready to do something that might involve advanced techniques like 'reading'?Oo

The settings are stored in:
/private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC
You can copy them off the ATV2 but you shouldn't need to. The settings are preserved through updates.

I don't know why you are saying that... I had already found the article you are referring to.

I normally read a lot before posting, and in this particular case I started this thread because of a weird behavior I couldn't find a set of words that allowed me to find an answer here. Sorry I've bothered somebody...

Well, I was thinking about scripts, movie and music databases, etc

Thanks for your help and attention. No need to answer to this post if you feel it may not help others.
