PSU confusion, help!
#1
This might be asking for much, but could someone help me figure out if it's worth buying the case I intend to buy WITHOUT the SFX PSU inside of it for about $70 less instead.

I don't know much about PSU's but the one included in the more expensive option seems to be designed specifically for that case. All I know is some reviews said it's silent and it does cool well.

Some info about the included PSU:

Quote:The PSU is customised in the sense that it is specifically designed for the hard disk layout of the Array R2. It has two sets of cables with three, 90-degree SATA power connectors, as well as an extra Molex and SATA power connector on another cable. These can consecutively connect to either three, four, or six installed disks pretty neatly. As expected, there's also the 24-pin ATX and 4-pin 12VEPS power connectors for the motherboard, and that's everything you get. We'd have liked some cable braid for the PSU's wiring, or at least some zip-ties to hold it all together.

Do you think for instance the Be-Quiet SFX Power BQT 300W is a better choice? It's a little bit cheaper, seems more effective and looks to be quieter (because of the name, lol?) but I don't know how many sata drives it can take (I'm guessing 2 sata connections doesn't mean ability to just power 2 drives?) and so on.

Thanks in advance!

There's a review for the PSU here (different cables, but should be same internals), and they seem pretty impressed with it. I don't think you'd have any problems with it, but I also don't know how much cheaper the alternatives are.

after reading http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/power...ower_psu/3 it's confirmed that it only has two sata connections, too bad :/ guess I'll go for the included one
