Curl error 22 means XBMC managed to contact the web server, but it returned an HTTP code of 400 or greater.

Is it always "Howard the Duck" that causes the error?

No, happens with different movies but it's always curl error 22. Happens at least once or twice a day.

If the issue can't be fixed is it possible to have this message not pop up? Since it happens daily it is by far the most annoying thing about the software. I'd rather just ignore the message than have it pop up every time I'm in the middle of watching a video.

Options specific to the Video scanner

<videoscanner>
<ignoreerrors>true</ignoreerrors> <!-- Set to true to silently ignore errors while scanning videos. This prevents the error dialogue box, so you don't have to keep hitting "yes" to keep scanning.-->
</videoscanner>

If I'm understanding this correctly, what this does is basically click "yes" behind the scenes without you having to do it manually, right? It will just skip over whatever file had an error and keep scanning the rest of the files? If so this is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I don't understand why this isn't the default behavior? Under what circumstance would someone want to be interrupted by a dialog box, and then click yes or no, if this just bypasses the message and keeps scanning anyways? Either way it's not going to fix the error, it just moves on or stops (why would you want it to stop?)

I have this exact same problem on XBMC 11, the dialogue box keeps popping up. Is there any success in resolving this matter?

GBB1, look at the advancedsettings posted above. It doesn't really solve the problem of scanning errors, but you don't get the annoying popup message anymore.

I'm getting this, error 7, only for tvdb scraper, everything else works fine. Complete reinstall doesn't work! Been researching for ages to no avail!
