Thanks again for your immediate reply. Would love to keep using my Bose speakers though. Ideally same size with the Mac mini to have them as "matching" devices stagged. Not sure whether this would be at all feasible though?

Server: Asus Sabertooth Z77 | Intel Core i5 3.4 GHz | 12 GB DDR3 | 256 GB SSD, 40 TB (1 x 4 TB, 6 x 3TB, 9 x 2 TB)
HTPC 1: Apple Mac Mini (mid-2011) | Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz | 4GB DDR3 | 500 GB
HTPC 2: Apple Mac Mini (mid-2007) | Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz | 4 GB DDR2 | 16 GB SSD

you can connect almost any set of speakers to Onkyo HTX-22HDX, and it can have up to 5.1 speakers. you'll never have to see avr either, because it is hidden in the subwoofer enclosure.

>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

if you're looking for cheap AVR, accessories4less offers refurb AVR for half the price with factory warranty. I know a lot of people on home theater forum who've been buying their stuff there for different home theater projects.

Making yet another attempt to buy a receiver. I moved away from minimizing the size. New requirements as follows:

1) Nice design / form factor
2) Supports airplay (natively, without airport express)
3) Supports Internet radio

In a nut shell, that's what I am looking for. ANy thoughts? I have identified the following 2 receivers, but would love to hear (cheaper?) alternatives and/or recomendations which of the 2 is better:

Denon AVR-1912
Pioneer VSX-921

Thanks in advance!!!

hmm, XBMC Eden will support AirPlay, so do you really need your receiver to support it?

Would still love to see it supported to use airplay without turning on my television. Any further thoughts?

For about the same price, this (Onkyo HT-RC370) will give you more options (you can have up to 11.2 speakers, front USB/HDMI ports, Internet Radios, etc) and power (100w Onkyo vs 90w Denon). I installed Denon AVR-1912 on my wife Aunt system, and I preferred my Onkyo HT-RC270 over Denon AVR-1912.

Thanks for the link. From what I see on amazon description, the Onkyo does not support airplay natively?
