Thanks for the tips everyone. I have 3 spots for 2tbs in my Unraid without buying a new cooler cage and I decided to jump for some of the remaining $89 specials in this thread, while they were still available. At the rate I accumulate and with the space I have available now, I should be good for about 6-8 months. Hopefully the world HD market stabilizes by then.
Its fascinating how interdependent the global economy has become.

The SATA3 WD Green's on NCIX posted upthread are still available and the 2 I ordered this morning have already shipped.
I'm trusting posts here and on the UnRaid forum suggesting they will be backwards compatible with my SATA 2 UnRaid compatible controller card.

Just ordered 2 (seperate orders - they say 1 per order) from best buy at $75 and bought 6 seagate goflex 2tb's from local Office Depot for $90 each. I'm probably going to return at least a couple in two weeks if the price levels off. Otherwise, ebay.
I have a feeling this is going to be like the prestone fire about a decade ago where the prices never fell back down once the mfgers. figured people would pay.
