I'm trying to setup a remote control to control XBMC, but I'm not sure to make this happen.
Remote: URC WR7
Programs: EventGhost and ShowKey20 [Windows 7]
I tried setting up URC as an MCE remote, which worked once I installed the AlternateMCEIR Service. All the keypresses registered in EventGhost as MCE commands. Problem 1: It wasn't working with XBMC. Problem 2: Keys were not showing up in ShowKey20. So, I didn't have a way of getting the key IDs to mess around with the mapping xmls.
Ended up uninstalling it. Showkey20 can now pick up keys, but not all of them. The volume being one of them. EventGhost can only pick up some key but not most of them. I also get different numbers from both programs. It seems that one programs picks up some keys and the other picks up other keys.
