Atv2 with xbmc not recognizing mac
#1
I have an ATV2 with xbmc eden, not sure what firmware it was on (how do I check that?)
From Nitro installed XBMC, no problem ...

Now when I go to video, add video via SMB I can see one MBP (which is on 10.5.8)
However it refuses to read my other MBP or MBA.

I have set file sharing on both MBP and MBA to ON with SMB.
However the ATV2 see all three computers, but will not go any further.

I see
>>Workgroup
>MBP (10.58)
>MBP (10.68) (sometimes it shows up sometimes it does not)
>MBA (10.72) (sometimes it shows up sometimes it does not)

If I click on >MBP (10.58)
I can see the shared files no problem

for the >MBP (10.68) it just show me "..."

for the >MBA (10.72) it shows me an error

Can anyone help me with this...

thanks in advance

Smb doesn't work with Lion anymore so that should solve that one. See here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=109761
Also see here for other stuff like logs etc: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=92480

Check out iOS FAQ (wiki) for finding version numbers for various things. SMBUp (wiki) can be used to fix SMB on 10.7, or you can just use AFP instead on any of the Macs. I'm not sure how up-to-date it is, but the SMB (wiki) wiki page should have some instructions how to set it up on Mac OS X.
