Hi
Using Kodi 19 RC1 with i5 7600K OC to 4.7Ghz and Geforce 3070 drivers 461.09.
In Nvidia Control Panel I have it set to 4k res, RGB, Full, 8 bit. TV supports 10 bit and 12 bit on YCbCr 422 only. All Nvidia image processing options are off (use "Video Player Settings").
In Kodi I have res 4k, Use Full Screen Window Off (real full screen); Delay after change of refresh rate = 2 seconds; Use limited color range = off; Adjust display refresh rate = on start / stop; use display HDR capabilities = on.
I have some stutter with panning scenes mostly on 4k HEVC HDR content. It basically looks like few frames are skipped.
I have eliminated stutter from some content by changing "render method" to "pixel shaders" (from auto detect). By testing I found out stutter was present in that content when DXVA was set as "render method".
But it was still there in some other content so I set "allow hardware acceleration DXVA2" = off and stutter is gone.
Does anyone know why? AFAIK there is no difference in picture quality when using software decoding.
Is there anything I could do to use hardware acceleration? Maybe something in Advanced Settings related to NVIDIA cards? But I checked https://kodi.wiki/view/Advancedsettings.xml and couldn't find anything there that would help...
