When I tried it on my quad-core OpenSUSE box using Darhma, I found it to be quite sluggish when navigating the library, has anyone else found this to be the case? Any special configuration to the mysql server needed?

I'm also open to hearing any tips for optimizing the mysql database and other tips/tricks people may have. Also, if anyone knows a good way to port an existing internal db to an external mysql one I would love to hear it.

Everything needs to be hooked up over ethernet for you to even have a chance... Wireless is almost guaranteed to give you noticeable slowdowns.

I always use Ethernet, my results with streaming media over wifi have been less than ideal, particularly with large 1080p files.
