Hi
Since september builds my XBMC drops frames on each HD mkv movie. My connection is fine as I am connecting to my NAS over a cable. I tried restoring and setting up from the beginning but same situation. Any ideas? It is very annoying as in every 30-40 seconds few frames are dropped so it lookes like the movie is slowing down. Anybody else has the same problem?
I'm using 4.3 ios, before was on 4.2 and same situation (I'm using ftp protocol as on smb it keeps buffering)

Sounds like there must be something wrong with the MKV movies. What about other formats? Do you have the same problems with them? MKV plays fine here withe the latest nightly build.

make sure you are running the latest nightly builds and give us a log file:

you could try playing with the audio/video sync settings if you didn't already. Nothing obvious in the logfile ...

Hi,
I was also experiencing a few glitches/stuttering during movies, and was quite mad at my ATV2. However, after a lot of self-research, I discovered that in fact it was my Samsung LED TV which was causing the problems.
The motion engine was on, and it did not play nice with xbmc and streaming. As soon as i turned this completely off, the "glitching" dissappeared.
However, I still am suffering from buffering issues with my XBMC connected to AFP to my Time Capsule. Have yet to find a sollution for this. (have tried the "audio fix", buffering size, wired, static IP ....).

Ok so what I did - I changed A/V sync to Audio Clock and it gives best results. Drops are rare now and much shorter (like 1/3 of second every 10-20 minutes). Any ideas why it helped and why it's worse without it?

Yes I have the exact same issue as you. I've also noticed that it is minimized when turning on turning on A/V sync to the Audio Clock.
It's very slight and I think a lot of people probably don't notice it. But there is definitely slight frame-dropping that you can notice during a slight pan every once in awhile.
