Weird problem with XBMC
#1
Hey guys, I just got a new laptop, specs as follows:

HP Pavilion dv7-6179us
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (SP1 came with the computer so there is no way of uninstalling it.)
6GB Ram
Radeon HD 6490M w/ switchable graphics (Intel HD 3000)
Intel Core i5 2430 2.4GHz

The problem I am having is that when I go to open XBMC, it doesn't start. I click to start it up, then my computer hangs and XBMC does not start. I open up task manager, which is hanging as well, and it shows XBMC using 2,047 worth of memory. I am thinking that it is SP1 that is messing with it, because on my other computer XBMC would open just fine, and it didn't have SP1 at all. What do you guys think is going on?? I would really appreciate the help cause it is very annoying and honestly XBMC is pretty much my life and my main media player.

Edit:

Think I may have solved it ... I ran in compatibility for Windows 7 to take the SP1 out of the equation. Hopefully it keeps working like it is. Thanks.

Try to adjust your Power Saving options and disable PCI Express Link State Power Management

We have been pulling our hair to figure this out, but that seems to do the trick.
