I've been trying various encoding and formats to get a custom image to display and as a last resort switched back to Confluence, only to discover it had been working all along, its just Alaska Revisted doesn't show it. Is there a workaround for this?

I have no idea what that link is about but custom images work just fine.

No, I'm talking about when using the xbmc HTTP API to display a notification. In the API, you can specify the location of a custom image, which displays when using Confluence, but Alaska Revisited always shows the same "exclamation" icon, regardless of the icon specified in the call.
