Can Sagetv and XBMC run on the same server
#1
I currently have a WHS sagetv server. I want to change my setup to accommodate XBMC. I want to stream movies using XBMC (for my newly almost finished projector based home theater). I want to maintain sagetv.

So is anyone running sagetv and XBMC on the same server? Sagetv will not be used on the server locally, it will only serve up content to sage extenders. XBMC will be used locally to stream bluray content to my HT projector.

Thanks for any info provided.

I'd imagine they can, yes. The reason being that xbmc isn't really a "server", it just takes care of playback functions. Therefore, it will happily play all your sagetv content locally. You should be able to install and use it on your WHS server just like any other application. It doesn't actually move files around or organize anything on the disk for you. It does have its own database, but that is optional, and shouldn't interfere with sagetv anyway.
