XBMC + ISK110 FTW!!!

i emailed ANTEC support
and asked them if the ISK110 has a MD-90 power converter.
so answer is YES, the ISK110 truly has a 90W PSU.
well, if ANTEC support said correct of course..

as we know, the prior version ISK100 had the MD-80 power converter.
so even tho they supplied it with a 90W power brick,
you'd still have to think as if you had an 80W PSU.

well Houston we've a problem.
Received my shrukein 2, was gonna see if it fits at all with the ISK100.

After installing the mounting bracket, the underside HD don't fit anymore Sad (see the thing don't sit flush with the bottom plate)

without the fan it's still slightly higher than would fit

Oh well....waiting for my ISK300-65 to arrive Smile

Holy jesus christ. I had no idea that was how big the 'Big Shuriken 2" was.
That's roughly the same size as the mobo, isn't it?

I'll think twice before buying one.

Yes it's freaking big, very quality built though, great cooler if it fits in your case.
I wonder if the shuriken rev B would fit better, it uses push-pin and don't need a custom backplate I think.

Shuriken Rev B is 6mm taller than the Shuriken 2 so I'll have to see what clearance I have, but the stock heatsync might be fine anyway.

Yes after I tune down the fan in the bios, the fan noise is not too bad, for xbmc the cpu is hardly sweating.

not sure anymore that the Big Shuriken 2 will fit in the ISK110 case... sadly...

pugetsystems.com uses the ISK110 with the stock i3 cooler which is 40mm ....

see here --> http://www.pugetsystems.com/nav/echo/I_I...tomize.php

now we know that the ISK100 is 70mm wide and the ISK110 is 78.6mm wide.

and the ISK110 case cover itself is convex allows 5mm more clearance for the cooler.

so compared to the ISK100,
the ISK110 allows you to use a max cooler of 53.6mm i say....

so if u go FanLess with the Scythe Big Shuriken, your at 46mm for just the HeatSink...
and im not super sure its a good way to go Tongue

then if not, well, this will %110 work
[CPU Cooler] Thermaltake MeORB TDP:65W Fan:92mm Height:47mm ($36 + $0)
