Now that I'm up and running, I'm extremely happy with this machine. I don't care about the 3.0 USB on the front panel anymore

I've tried both the win8 preview drivers and win7 drivers, but I can't output Dolby/DTS. Receiver definitely supports it - Onkyo NR717
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

For HTPC, it'll be no difference between the 3850 and 3870.......or AMD A6-3500 w/ low power consumption/less heat is fine for your HTPC needs too.....
I am looking to play the hd video files will be stored on a central server and running through CAT6, run Netflix (at 1080P), play Blu-Rays, web-surf, and mild gaming (my wife wants to be able to play Sims 3).
Or are these overkill for my needs?

Would this PSU work well in this build? Fit and vent properly with the Case and enough room for optical drive?

Is this particular build requiring an update?
