On low you should be able to play anything, you can check youtube for videos.
But I dont think A8 can handle max settings or even AA, AF.

Iam using Ram with normal heatsinks.
Maybe with sth like Ripjaws you could have a problem becuse the Heatsink from the Shuriken are over one of the Ram slots.
So if you only have 1 module no problem.
The Shuriken 2 could be a problem with with normal heatsinks never had one but it should reach over both slots.

EDIT: Any Corsair/Samsung/Intel with r/w > 250mbs

Oh btw if you go for the A8 the Shurikens are both not for 100w CPUs so use the stock cooler or try one if they keep the cpu cool enough.

Looking at these two pictures of Creed3020's build, I think I should be OK on the DDR3 modules. That looks like the stock heat sink with the A8 in these pics.

Btw, you see advantage of half-height BD drive other than ability to use saved space for another disk drive or SSD?

I dont have an BR drive but I think its also not as long as a normal drive so you dont get trouble with the modular PSU and Sata drive connector.
You dont really need space for SSD only if you want to use 2.
You can mount one right next to the PSU.

1 HDD with antivibration thingys under the drive and 1 HDD on the black thing + 1 HDD with antibibration instead of a BR drive.
So a total of 1x 2.5" and 2-3x 3.5".

Its a real pain to mount all the stuff cause you have to screw them from the bottom but once its all setup it looks really clean inside.

On the pictures he removed the metal bar in the. I think with it the Cooler wouldnt fit in.

Did you try AMD fan that came w/ CPU (would it fit in ML03B case)? I see you ended up using the Scythe. I have two Rev. B to pick from - SCSK-1100 and SCBSK-2100 (you have suggestion)?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...&x=19&y=19

Does anyone know what is the difference between SCBSK-2000 and SCBSK-2100? It says RevB, but I am wondering what they actually changed or if theyre meant for different board (ie AMD vs INTEL).
EDIT: I think I may have figured it out, its the same thing except the 2100 now supports the new intel chipset.

As a side note, anyone have experience with Nexus Value 430 PSU? I was looking for a good quiet one and this was what SPCR recommended. Its also supposed to be smaller though Im trying to find the full dimensions now.

Previously I was going to purchase an alternative that eskro suggested which was, But I wanted to push down to make this as quiet as possible:

This Nexus 430 PSU looks on paper very good. It has not one, not two, but four 12V rails rated at 20amps. If true this makes the PSU very useful for future applications. I didn't check the cable configuration, but assume that offers a lot of flexibilty too. Also the PSU is 12.5cm deep compared to the normal 15cm PSU and still has 120mm fan. PSU is discontinued at newegg, but it was well rated by users when sold there. So I may have to look at this seriously as it would make things much easier in the smaller cases! Wish we had more pics - any on SPCR?

Yea, I skipped the BD for now. It would be a tight fit if I didn't get the small one made for laptops. But did you see this Nexus 430 PSU posted above. It's 2.5 cm smaller in depth than normal PSU. That would make install much easier.

Alot of pictures there. On a side note, as long as you keep the load low the noise and temp will be low but if you plan to do a dual role NAS/HTPC with alot of HDD I would go with one of the other units.

Thanks Miles. Good review of PSU. All-in-all I think for the reduced noise, low heat, small size, good performance, and $60 price tag, this may be the best PSU in its class for an HTPC using most microATX cases. I guess I should not have been surprised that it's highly unlikely the 12V rails listed on the specifications are really separate, but of course I did not realized there was no instructions about which connectors are part of which line. All PSUs I've owned with separate 12V rails identify the associated connectors. Don't think there is a standard on this, but one could make some educated guesses. In any event, the review was only mildly critical about this and while the "Value 430 is not exceptional" electrically speaking, it should provide "fine power delivery for most midrange systems". For me the critical benefit would be solving the space problem behind where I hope to mount a standard size BD drive in my ML03B case. Guess I will just have to wait and see if I can do it with the Seasonic I ordered.

TeKo - Can you tell me how much space there would be between back of PSU (mine is 5.12" deep) and back of optical drive if you were to mount a full size drive (typically 6.75" from front of face plate) in the 5.25" bay in the ML03B?

Just did some calculations. If I'm right the only difference in depth between this Nexus Value 430 and the Seasonic M12II 520 that I ordered is 5mm. For almost the same money, I'll stick with the higher overall quality of the Seasonic even if it's a bit loader. Fan in Seasonic also much better and that alone offsets the noise difference if any!
