[Micro-ATX] A6-3500 (3x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D
TeKo Wrote:Yea the UDH2 is really good basically the only difference is that you have 4 Ram slots instead of 2, DVI and only 2 rear USB3 ports.

ok, ill go with that then. Another ting is Asrock comes with CIR, might be good fore some.

bdaddy Wrote:2) From that same thread, I'm assuming XBMC Live will not run on this system?

It might in the near future, as XBMC Eden Live should support VAAPI. So wait until Eden is officially out (XBMC Live beta is not out yet).

If you are looking at Linux, maybe you can look at OpenElec, which is similar to XBMC live and already support AMD Fusion line.

I think E350 is working good with openelec but A6 still has problems not sure.

Thinking of upgrading my build yet again, and adding a blu ray drive. I know the case is a bit tight for space with the PSU and optical drive, and you have to try and get a smaller PSU (which I did) - is there this concern for the optical drive as well, or are they a fairly standard size? This is the one I'm looking at right now: http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Othe...ctId=47451

I also have some questions about adding a blu ray drive, which I have put in this thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=121673

I just built this with the Silverstone ML03B case, SeaSonic SS-400ET PSU, and LG Blu-Ray that was recommended. It's a tight fit, but as long as you use the 90 degree SATA cable on the back of the Blu-Ray drive it fits fine.

Just got a couple of questions:

1) Has anyone confirmed if Big Shuriken 2 fits inside properly in this case+mobo and leaves enough space for the airflow?

2) I have been pondering waiting for the nyxboard or going ahead with a harmony 650, any suggestions? I haven't even purchased the HTPC components and I can hold over till the nyxboard replacement comes out in march, however I am just trying to avoid having to also have a keyboard around (which I see most harmony users do), anyone who has tried these have any suggestion? I saw the thread for the remotes and it said that nyxboard is meant to work almost out of the box with XBMC which is a big plus.

You have link to nyxboard and remote you plan to use?

For dedicated XBMC system, sounds like a great option. But I have not looked at other options very closely and I'm not building HTPC dedicated to using XBMC.

[CPU+iGPU] AMD A6-3500 3x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz HD6530D FM1 65W ($90 + $0)
[MOBO] ASRock A75M FM1 CIR USB3.0 SATAIII UEFI μATX ($75 + $0)
[CASE] SILVERSTONE ML03B μATX ($60 + $0)
[PSU] SeaSonic SS-400ET 80+ Bronze 400W ATX12V ($43 + $9)
TOTAL: ($277)

** A6-3500 CPU supports up to DDR3-1866MHz memory sticks **

If I use the fanless Seasonic power supply in the SILVERSTONE ML03B, I will have to cut a hole in the case above this power supply. If I use Seasonic with the 120mm fan you list, the air intake vent in the bottom of the ML03B is too small. So I need a very quite high quality alternative power supply for that case.

How is the vent to small?
Iam using the case with a be quiet! 120mm no problem.

Measure diameter of air intake vent on bottom of case below power supply. I bet it is 80mm. Unless there is a good gap, you are not getting airflow you should. But if power supply running cool, then I guess you're OK.

Nah its exactly 120mm.
The screws in the Edges are at the same position they are at a 120mm fan.
Tested 5 sec ago.

That's really good to hear. Thanks for clearing that up. Thought I had seen in the specs that it was 80mm vent, but I must have got the wrong.

80mm is for the 4 vents in the side.
PSU and above the CPU fan is about 120mm.
