You know, I am going to return the my expensive 120$ brick and buy a new one anyway. I really think the 65W stock brick will not run the A8-3820 with more powerful GPU (6550) even if it's a 65W CPU... I believe bluray when he says that it will consume more energy than your A6-3500 because of the better GPU.

And since I have to buy a new brick anyway I can go with Pico in the first place since it is not more expensive than a 120W brick here in Switzerland.

Maybe it's also just my bad experiences with the A8-3850 lately. I've been told that a 120W brick will do, but it didn't.
So now I want to be on the save side. Also if I attach a blu-ray drive someday in the future which will consumer more energy too...

Is this not a good plan?
If you want to utilize your 300-65 case, the best option would be the Pico 160W. It'll give you some rooms to grow (like adding BD-ROM, USB 2.0/3.0 devices, etc). Since you have a powerful APU, you might need the extra power to do heavier tasks (like, watching blu-ray disc in full 1080P/bitstreaming HD audio while transcoding blu-ray in the background)......

You need to ready from page 20 on......you'll see the whole story.....

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

No I didn't solve my problem yet. As eskro says I am also waiting for my A8-3820 as well.

But I just ordered the picoPSU-160XT from Amazon inkluding a AC/DC Adapter. Because I can return my 125W brick and buy this Pico even a little bit cheaper and additionally I have more power.

And you know why? Because meanwhile I am sick of beeing scared that this stuff doesn't work with low powered bricks. I also do not care about any more electricity costs a more powerful PSU causes. I just want to be on the safe side and with this 160W from the PicoPSU I am because I tested it with a friends 160W PSU.

Well if it does not work with a 135watts then am gonna sell it cause buying another PicoPsu will add more to the cost as it is

so far my cost is

APU: AMD A8 3820 £73.43

CPU COOLER: Scythe SCSK-1100 100mm Shuriken Rev. B 3 £29.62

MOTHERBOARD: AsRock A75M ITX £64.98

RAM: Kingston HyperX PnP 4GB 1866 MHz £36.67

CASE: Antec 300-65 £69.56

Total £274.26

and that's without a ssd and the 135watts.the cost just keeps going up cause i have to buy a keyboard & mouse and usb wifi

But i do think that a 135watts should work cause the apu is a 65watts even tho it has a more powerful gpu.
