Weird VHS warping effect on playback

Question
Hello Knowledgeable peeps Smile

I have an issue in XBMC 10.1 where playing back any file (TV Show or Movie) results in a band across the top say, 60 pixels being slightly warped, as if it's being viewed on an old warped VHS cassette. The rest of the screen seems fine and the audio is also good.

For info:

OS: Ubuntu 11.10
CPU: Intel C2D E6300 1.86gHz
RAM: 2gb DDR2-1066
GPU: Palit 7600GT ----------- I know this card lets the side down a bit as it has no HDMI output, I'm looking at a fanless GT430 to rectify this.

I'm going to try to screencap the problem later if that's of any help.

Sounds like screen tearing, make sure that in the settings menu where you chose resolution that v-sync is turned on.
