Playing YouTube content from Android App - Log Included
#1
I have been using the XBMC Android app quite extensively and it works great! I particularly enjoy browsing YouTube and when I find a video I'd like to show on tv, I simple press the "share" button, choose XBMC and it starts playing on the TV.
That was until a few days ago... It has stopped working. Now, when I send a video, I get the "working" pop-up for a second or so and nothing. I have no idea why and don't remember changing anything on the PC or the phone. All the other features of the Android app work great. There hasn't been an OTA update on the phone or anything like that. (I'm on Gingerbread)

My log is here: http://pastebin.com/K7SaTKJh

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

It looks as if you're trying to play http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA_aRNm0Y...ata_player directly. This won't work because DVDPlayer can't just play a YouTube web page.

I found a thread relating to this issue here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?p=9...post945310 and have posted an updated log there as well showing first what doesn't work (as posted above) and then what does.

It looks to me like when sent from google (on the phone), a python script is launched to handle things but when shared from YouTube, it doesn't.

Thanks for your response, JR. If you have any further info on this, that would be awesome. Being able to browse YouTube on my phone and send it directly is a HUGE feature in my mind and I'd love to get it working!!
