NAS setup on XBMC
#1
I've been looking at getting a Apple tv for a while now and I've finally decided to take the plunge.

I've been looking at getting a NAS drive but considering I have a couple of hard drives, I found one of these :

Will this be good enough to stream 720p and 1080p files to XBMC?

Thanks for any help and hopefully I've posted this in the correct place.

it should work since a big 1080 Movie needs about 1,5 MB/s, but why bother with something that ugly ?

If you already have hard drives, then buy a hard drive enclosure with ethernet built in.
Looks better, has more Functionality and saves energy because of the drive spinning down when not in use.
They start around 25€... (Here is one with two slotsSmile

Or get a decent one from the beginning (icybox, synology, ...) and you won't regret it in half a year when out of space.

Greets.
