I got my long awaited Mac Mini PPC that I bought among other things to run XBMC (for SD content only) on.

Unfortunately on a clean install of OSX 10.4.11 Dharma 10.1 DOES NOT LAUNCH!

there is no log at ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/CrashReporter.log

The console log shows

Could not init logging classes. Permission errors on ~/.xbmc?
ERROR: Unable to create application. Exiting

Is anyone using this on PPC with OS X 10.4 successfully?

UPDATE

I found that this is a BUG and here is a workaround.

Install the nightly *UNSTABLE*

execute it

exit xbmc

then in Applications folder, rename the XBMC(.app) to anything

now install the Dharma 10.1

Dharma will now execute .

Apparently this will never get fixed because they have moved on to 11 , so there is probably no sense in filing a bug report. Must have to do with how Dharama sets some permissions, just guessing here. Would be nice to have a stable PPC version that worked without the work around.

You need to create ~/Library/Logs manually.
See http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=97737

xbmc.log: /Users/<username>/Library/Logs/xbmc.log
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
