Question
I have recently purchased the Dell ovu104007/00 receiver. It's supposed to be an original RC6 Dell receiver.
After reading some instructions on this forum and other sites everyone's talking about eHome driver that's required for Harmony and the receiver to work with XBMC. When I plugged it in, it did not come up as an IR transceiver but just HID device.
Not sure what to do with it now. I can still return it and get my money back.
Anyone has any experience on how to set this particular receiver up ?

As far as I know the Dell receiver is a standard RC6 receiver. What version of Windows are you using? I know some RC6 receivers, e.g. some HP receivers, don't install properly on WinXP. If it doesn't load the eHome driver (see http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Usi...in_Windows for how to check) I would return it and look for an HP or Microsoft receiver.

it is for sure not an eHome driver that's being installed. I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64. I guess I'll return it. Do you have any particular in mind that I could get that will work for sure ? Any links if possible ? I have a Harmony 650.

You don't say where in the world you are, but http://www.ebay.com/itm/300630003715 looks a good option. Having the handset as well is nice because you can get everything working with the handset before you try and use the Harmony. If you look at http://www.ebay.com/sch/Remote-Controls-/51086/i.html and search for HP you should find lots of HP remotes.

Note that you need to set the inter-key delay on the Harmony otherwise you get about a half a second lag pressing each button and that raidly gets tiresome!

Sorry for my ignorance man. I'm in the States. So the one that you pointed me at ( HP set ) will for sure install as a eHome transceiver ? How do I know it's not a clone like it was the case with the current one I have ? Is there a way to tell like a model ?

Yes.

I suppose you can't be certain, but I have never seen any clones of the HP remote.
