Memphiz, or other devs can you confirm the status of "fix"? merged to eden beta or not yet?

I have the same problem, whenever I scan music, it always crashes. Also when I try to browse to the folder that makes it crash, it also crashes.

I did find something interesting, that might pinpoint the bug.

If i go to Settings>Music>File Lists

And the Disable "Enable tag reading" option, all of a sudden I am able to browse thru the folder that made XBMC crash. But doing a scan still makes XBMC crash. So perhaps the bug has something to do with Tag reading.

BTW i am using version 11 b1

UPDATE: I just rewrote all of the Tags to the MP3s in the folder that made XBMC crash and now everything works! So the problem I had, was certainly something to do with tags.

yes, we are aware of this. if you read the thread, this is why the devs are working on this problem.
again, if you read the thread, you'll see that there is a fix. we just need to know if it has been added to the latest beta.

sounds like what you did was to "band-aid" the problem.

let's wait to hear from the Devs... i'm sure there are a lot of bugs still lingering out there.

Please, let's all try to keep in mind this is still BETA!!!!!!!!

if you want a quick fix, go back to Dharma. or install a build that was working for you.

Thanks john8472

While we wait for the devs to figure this out, your work-around worked for me too. That it, just re-saved the tags with Mp3tag and problem went away.
