HTPC RF Keyboards
#1
Oh well, this is going to be a fun one Tongue
if time allows, i plan on doing also a new remote thread

Anyways, im just trying to gather all under the same roof ..
why only RF, well, lets say that all this time,
i definitely see preferences for RF devices rather then Bluetooth devices..

The Keysonic 540RF absolutely has to be on there. It seems to be quite pricey outside the UK though.

RF: Yes
Backlit: No
Touchpad

The range and battery life of the Logitechs are awful in my experience.

since you use it and say its great, i'll add the Keysonic 540RF to the list!

but in the USA, we have this one here http://www.amazon.com/PERIPHERAL-LOGIX-P...219&sr=1-2

and it has all perfect reviews!

All of 2 reviews is rather meaningless on Amazon.... anyone can register on Amazon and post a review for their own products.... but the reviews do both seem genuine.

But it's not RF so it's not exactly much use for this thread....

.....and yes, BT keyboards aren't always responsive enough, although if you need a BT keyboard for some reason (e.g. a smartphone, or some kind of shoebox sized PC without any USB ports?!) most RF keyboards do have BT equivalents. The Keysonic has both BT and USB wired variants.

I'm glad that you generated this list after we discussed it yesterday. Smile

You got the Logitech Mini Keyboard Controller that I suggested on the list, but you left out the top rated HP TouchPad Wireless Keyboard.
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard (Built-in TouchPad/Laser Pointer) $30

SIIG JK-WR0412-S1 81 Key Wireless Mini Multimedia Keyboard $44

Hewlett Packard HP Wireless Mini Keyboard $37

I've not tried the above, but they appeal to me and would love feedback if anyones tried them.

I have the N5092 right now and i'm finding the RF lacking. I've got this media cabinet (Salamander Syergy Triple 30) and i have to have a door open to use the remote. I'm sure the mesh on the doors don't help

forget about the rii mini...
i had 2 of them, both were unusable/unreliable...
could have been the best thing on earth, but its an epic fail...

i dont see the real need to add the SIIG JK-WR0412-S1 in the list..
reviews arent really good and at that price,
theres better keyboard on the list already Tongue

im currently looking at the Hewlett Packard HP Wireless Mini Keyboard $37
you linked me too,,,
i might add it, just checking overall comments/reviews...

thx
