[ATV2] SMB mount query

For the apple tv2, is the implementation of SMB etc within XBMC the same as that when using nitoTV's smart installer...which i believe uses smbfs kext file?

Isn't NitoTV's Smart Installer an Apple TV 1 (silver) thing?
