Looking for a nice looking Mini-ITX Case
#1
Hi all

Very new to the whole HTPC/XBMC scene. Now oddly enough, I've found and decided upon the internals of my Box, but just can't seem to find a case that I like Sad

I found this case which I love, but simply can not find a single place to purchase it. (perhaps because it was produced in 2006/07 and may be discontinued)

Anyone know of any other really nice looking cases ? Would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much Eskro. Do you think that case will be able to fit this motherboard, and is the included power supply (60watt) enough to power that board plus a single HDD?

Going by the spec of the Mini-itx case and Mini-itx mobo in your links, it'll fit. The low power E350 APU should be a good fit for the low power PSU in the case.

Now that I looked at the overall height of the case, I'm not sure that it have enough room for that mobo.

hmmmm so its a no go then, bummer.

Ok so i guess i start from the start again.

Basically i want to build a HTPC using XBMC that will be able to run 1080p remux movies, and be able to bit stream DoLBy TrueHD and dts hd. Would the above main board be able to do the following with no trouble, or would i need something with alittle more jiuce?

This build should do it then:

1. Case/PSU: SILVERSTONE Sugo SG05-B Black
2. APU: AMD A6-3500 Llano 2.1GHz (2.4GHz Max Turbo)
3. MOBO: ASRock A75M-ITX FM1
4. Memory: Crucial Ballistix sport 4GB (2 x 2GB)
5. SSD: Patriot Torqx 2 PT232GS25SSDR 2.5" 32GB

It'll playback BD in full 1080P video with DTS-HD and TrueHD audio! Smile

Unfortunately most cheap itx cases are ugly-looking.

Lian Li PCQ09 is a very attractive looking case. I also like that the optical drive and HDD are below the motherboard. This way there is nothing to obstruct the airflow coming directly off the CPU cooler, it can just come straight out the top vent.

The only thing I don't like is the optical drive. If you put an optical drive it will really ruin the aesthetic of the front of the case. They should have gone with a slot-load only and just put a slot in the front instead of a removeable cover.

For nice looking case, look for the Wesena line of product Smile

Keep in mind that it is for ODD with left eject button. Come february, they will have cases with a standard right eject button.

Im very impressed with the case I used for my build. Its much nicer looking in person than it looks in the pictures.
Its Micro atx/mini atx.

Best of all its on sale for $49 shipped....$30 less than I paid for it when I did my HTPC!

Edit: Nevermind....just noticed you want mini-itx, not mini-atx.....
